India's leading logistics service providers today announced the launch
of India's Largest Regional Distribution Center (RDC) at Hassangarh,
Haryana. Spanning over an area of 5,14,000 sq. ft., the warehouse is
huge enough to shelter six of the largest airplanes of the world or
accommodating two Melbourne Cricket Club Grounds and can store 85000
tons (equivalent to 36 racks) thus making it India's largest warehouse.
Scientifically built with advance technology, it has features such as
Pre Engineering Building (PEB) using Galvalume sheets, VD technology for
flooring, Dock Levelers, huge rain shelter canopies etc. thus offering
world class quality infrastructure to its customers.
This new wonder of Indian logistics industry is present in Delhi NCR at
the nearest proximity area of the proposed Kundli Manesar Palwal (KMP)
Expressway that will make it easily accessible from all over India.
Completed within a record time of 6 months (started in December 2006
& completed in May 2007), it has all the necessary facilities with
maximum height of 46 ft. and consists 49 turbo ventilators and 146
louvers. To make the warehouse environment friendly and energy
efficient, Indo Arya invested extensively in rain water harvesting
system to store 2.5 lacs liters of rain water and gravity ventilators
that run without electricity and 4% natural sky lights to save energy.
According to us Indo Arya, "There is a demand for such
well thought and system oriented facility to cater to the needs of
emerging and growing Indian economy. Such high technology warehousing
provides great strategic competitive advantage and is core to a
company's business. Companies have started strategizing its growth plans
in synergy with warehousing space of high quality available in the
country.
The warehouse has the potential to become a support provider to giants
in retail and FMCG sectors such as Pantaloon, ITC Foods etc. as it has
an extensive reach to regions of North India. Other value added
activities like repacking of staple food under strict hygiene controls
will be done at the warehouse. As a forward strategy, Indo Arya is
planning to launch its regional distribution centers in Kolkata, Chennai
and Mumbai with a total space of 1 million sq ft. The company recently
launched RDC in Hyderabad with the size of 175,000 sq.ft. in the month
of April 07.
